Where do I Start
With all of the choices out there, where does one start when they want to get involved with digital photography? The focus of this topic is to cut through the hype and hoopla and give you the information to make an informed decision and not waste your time and money. We will give you the ammunition to make an informed choice.
What Equipment Do I Need? will examine what you need to know about the equipment need to get great looking photos. Like every other endeavor in life, you have to begin with your goals. What are you trying to accomplish? To what end are you trying to get to? If these questions seem simplistic, on the surface they are, but in reality they only scratch the surface.
What Kind of Camera Do I Need? There are three fundamental types of digital cameras and each has their strengths and weakness. This section looks at the three types of modern digital cameras which are the compact cameras, the superzoom cameras, and the digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) cameras and will try to help you decide which one is right for you.
What About Memory Cards? While there are many varieties of memory cards, there are four basic types of memory cards that are used in digital cameras; CompactFlash, Secure Digital, Memory Stick, and xD-Picture cards. This discussion will examine each kind.
